Housekeeper Estate Maintenance Couple Job 

Greycoat Lumley's client are seeking a Couple for their estate near Dalwhinnie, Scotland.  This is a wonderful opportunity to work in a very prestigious estate and to join an existing team lead by the Estate Manager.  The location is ideal for a Couple with a love of the outdoors and a more relaxed pace of life.  Both must have a full driving licence.

Estate Maintenance Person - will join the maintenance team.  Applicants must be multi‐skilled, with a strong emphasis on machinery operation and maintenance, along with basic plumbing, electrical and joinery skills.  Assisting with the maintenance of the Estate Hydro Scheme each day is an essential part of the job for which full training will be given.

Duties will be:

  • Assisting with sawmill/firewood operations
  • Grass cutting around holiday cottages
  • Machinery servicing or repair
  • Holiday cottage repairs and refurbishment

Whilst it is hoped that suitable candidates would have appropriate certification and training, this will be provided for specific machinery/tasks where necessary.

There will be on call maintenance for at least one week and weekend in every three – some flexibility is required.

Hours:  0800 to 1630

Days:  Tuesday to Saturday

23 days annual holiday plus 9 statutory holidays

Housekeeper – this is a role which requires a great deal of self discipline and a friendly, confident personality in order to fulfil a variety of expectations.  The housekeeper is required to carry out cleaning and changeovers for the holiday cottages to a very high standard, working with one other person.  It may also be necessary for them to assist with laundry duties from time to time.  

It is essential that the Housekeeper works closely with the Estate Office and other Housekeeping staff in order to maintain an effective working relationship with the rest of the estate, and to enable standards to be maintained, whilst ensuring that the requirements of the visitors are met.  

Because of the variable nature of the workload, inevitably this has an effect on the working day at different times of the year.

Usual working hours: 12 to 18 hours per week.

Both applicants must complete a Disclosure Scotland check.

Accommodation:  3 bedroom good size property on the estate.  No rent or water or electricity charges. (Council Tax to be paid)
