This role is a key player in delivering exceptional levels of service to our client and their guests. Ownership of this role is essential and a passion for creating a warm and welcoming environment is fundamental to its success. A solid and enthusiastic support to the Trackside Manager, delivering high standards of customer service, hospitality and an attention to detail will come naturally to this person, enhanced from a background in luxury and high end catering, hospitality and service.

The role will be responsible for the front of house host/hostess(s) managing and leading the team in providing exceptional levels of customer service and hospitality. Responsible for ensuring each host/hostess is presented impeccably and the quality of their work is on point. This role will inspire, motivate and drive the front of house team forward in meeting the client’s expectations. English speaking is essential in this role with other languages an asset.

This role is London based on a salary of £34,000 p.a. on a fixed term contract. In addition travel, transfers, accommodation and expenses are covered whilst travelling to, from and during races during the 2020 and 2021 F1 season.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing and inspiring the catering and hospitality team trackside including working hours, time management, job roles, presentation, service levels, time in between races and responsibilities.

  • Excel in service and hospitality.

  • Encouraging and leading the team delegating and tasks to the bring out the best in the team and operation.

  • Inducting and supervising new starters; ensuring that all employees are hitting standards.

  • To ensure that high standards of presentation of food and displays are maintained at all times, keeping all areas (including service areas) clean, neat and tidy.

  • To ensure that all cutlery, crockery and service items on display are clean, undamaged, topped up and presented accordingly.

  • Collating and providing information for the end of race reports.

  • Rolling out client feedback, encouraging and training team members.

  • Participating in the safe and efficient set up and pack down of the hospitality suite and motorhome.

  • To brief the team at each race on programmes, events, timings, special guest requirements, health and safety, track specific information, job roles, responsibilities, etc.

  • Liaising with team management trackside to ensure their needs are met. Communication with all parties to include set up/pack down progress, any changes to race pack issued, collate all information for the race to include expected guest, Racing Point and VIP’s.

  • Strong front of house presence at all races. Meet and greet guests and ensure they are looked after.

  • Overseeing the VIP hostesses and a full understanding of team, sponsors and clients being hosted.

  • Leading by example in delivering excellent service front of house waiting to all guests. Mentoring and training as and when necessary

  • Manage team meal times including, buffet, coffee bar, events, VIP dishes. .

  • Feedback any team HR issues to the Trackside Manager.

  • Hi-light any needs for training and development to the Trackside Manager.

  • To monitor and provide an accurate record of front of house breakages and losses from each race.

  • Overseeing of restocking of produce trackside and proactively sourcing via the Operations Manager.

  • To provide information for the race bible for each event that details recommendations, learnings and suggestions.

  • Proactively sourcing information from Racing Point personnel and actioning in a timely manner, communicating clearly and concisely with the Rocket team and feeding back to Racing Point as and when necessary.
