We are working with one of the country’s leading independent boarding and day school for girls aged
11 to 18 years. They an inspirational day and boarding school for girls aged 11-18 set in 35 acres in
the heart of Berkshire with easy access to London. Founded in 1894, the school is steeped in
history and tradition and is known for its pioneering education that prepares girls for the challenges
of the modern world. The school is part of the United Westminster Grey Coat Foundation that was
founded in 1699 in Westminster as the Grey Coat Hospital.
They are recruiting for Graduate Assistants to work within the boarding environment to get to
know the girls and build up a relationship of trust with them. Candidates will be expected to be ready to
give support to the House staff team. In addition they will have other responsibilities in school
depending on her areas of expertise and interests.

The Role:
• Assist the House Parent/s in being responsible for the safety, welfare and pastoral care of the
girls in his/her House
• Spend time with the girls resident in the House, organising activities and games
• Assist in the smooth running of the House and liaise closely with the House Parent/s and
his/her team
• Be resident in the House and possibly including 2 days before beginning of term and 2 days
after the end of term
• Accompany girls on outings as directed by the Graduate Assistant Co-ordinator
• Assist with weekend activities as directed by Weekend Activities Co-ordinator • Participate in Saturday Morning programme as required • Assisting with Lifeguarding swimming sessions
• Assist with providing academic support in house and if possible in academic lessons
• Assist the PE department by contributing to practical sessions, as required • Supervise in the Library and IT rooms as directed by the Graduate Assistant Co-ordinator
• Academic support as required in the Lower School
You (ideally) have:
Qualifications Degree qualification or equivalent
First Aid training
Driving licence
Experience Previous experience of
working with children
Skills Good and demonstrable organisational skills
Excellent communication skills with pupils,
parents and staff
Able to prioritise and manage time effectively
Responsible attitude to work
Ability to show an empathetic approach
Able to define appropriate boundaries and act as
a role model
Able to keep clear records
Attention to detail
Mindful of the need to behave appropriately and
professionally at all times with pupils, their
parents and peers
Accommodation: Accommodation will be provided and is available for use during the holiday times. No charge is
made for the accommodation or food during the school term.
Hours:
Term time only role
Working 5 days out of 7 (including weekends)
Exact hours to be confirmed within the contract
Salary £11,503 per annum.
