One of our clients - one of the UK's most prestigious schools - is looking for a permanent Hospitality Manager.  The school is situated not far from London and has a beautiful estate and grounds, which the Hospitality Manager can make full use of. During term time, the Catering department produce over 3,000 meals per day, as well as packed meals throughout the year.  Additionally there are events, functions and conferences that take place, as well as food being produced for match days, open days and evenings, staff events and also wedding receptions and external hire.  It's a pretty large operation and the person that takes on this role must be up for this exciting challenge that lies ahead.  There is a cafe, providing hot and cold snacks for the pupils.

The Hospitality Manager will be overseeing the internal and external events, as well as having full management of the hospitality team.  The main headings under which the Hospitality Manager's role will fall are service management, HR management, financial management, 

The role includes (this list is not-exhaustive and is subject to change as the role develops):

  • Coordinating and running all aspects of internal events and ensure that the requirements of external events are looked after;
  • operational planning of all events, prior and post follow ups as well;
  • budgeting, financial planning and achieving targets and KPIs that are set; 
  • complying with all food safety and health and safety legislation and staying up to date with the latest changes;
  • working collaboratively with all colleagues, not just in the hospitality team but across the whole school;
  • ensuring that the services provided are customer focused, within budget, inline with service standards;
  • managing the hospitality team and therefore addressing all staffing matters, as well as training and development of staff; 
  • attending and running catering team meetings;
  • holiday cover;
  • assisting with the recruitment of new staff into the team and induction and onboarding of those that are successful;
  • event planning;
  • financial reporting;
  • ordering & stock control;
  • safeguarding of the pupils at all times

You will be:

  • someone who thrives in a busy environment;
  • meticulous at planning events, with a keen eye for detail;
  • highly organised and able to deal with several events at different times;
  • someone who takes pride in their work;
  • experienced in a similar role and come from a hospitality background;
  • strong in financial management skills, able to stick to a budget, and execute thorough and detailed reports;
  • an excellent communicator and be able to get on with people from all walks of life;
  • a good manager and enjoy leading a team;
  • flexible and adaptable and able to work through any changes that may crop up;
  • have good IT skills and be proficient in MS Office;
  • a driver and able to drive the school's vehicles;
  • proactive, positive and have a can-do attitude;

Salary:  up to £30,000 GPA
