Full Time Live in Housekeeper/Cook job near Cambridge
A family of three who have recently relocated to the UK are looking for a professional and experienced Housekeeper/Cook to help in their new home. Mum has two teenage children aged 16 & 18, the eldest has special needs. They have multiple dogs and cats - it is essential you are a big cat lover!
They will employ a part time Housekeeper that you will need to oversee who will do breakfast and help out with cleaning. They also currently employ a Governor who tutors the children. He has been with the family for 6 years and they are in the process of hiring a second Governor so that they have 7 day week help.
The ideal candidate will be child/teen friendly as on the estate mum is opening up a special needs unit that will specialise in music, pilates, gardening and fun activities for multiple children who have experienced mental trauma.
Duties to include:
Daily cleaning to a high standard – this will include care of marble surfaces, wooden flooring and keeping the kitchen and fridge spotless.
Laundry & Ironing to a high standard
Supervising the cleaner and spot checking her work
Daily cooking of lunch & dinner for up to 5 people at any one time – this will include catering for a vegan and gluten free diet, the children enjoy Indian and Mediterranean dishes
Evening Bedtime turn downs
Grocery shopping/running errands
Dog walking & general help with pets
Reporting maintenance issues
You will travel with the family to their home in Switzerland for up to 3 months a year (at different periods throughout the year)
You must be happy to travel with the family throughout the year in the school holidays (max 3 months in total) to their holiday home in St Moritz in the mountains.
This is a formal household and the ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar environment, have a brilliant attention to detail and be a happy and positive presence around the house.
A driver would be a huge bonus, however not essential.
House: Large family estate
Hours: 5.5 days per week, 10.00am – 8.00pm
Accommodation: Your own private bedroom and bathroom
Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 gross per annum
