We at Greycoat Lumleys are delighted to be working with this 5* property in Surrey, in the search for a Housekeeping Supervisor.  Due to the high standards of this Hotel, the clients require someone with that extra attention to detail and the ability to spot where extra Housekeeping is required.  The Hotel is set across a large area, and so the role requires someone to be able to cope with this - it's an active job!  As the Housekeeping Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of Housekeeping Assistants to ensure that all public areas, bedrooms and social rooms are cleaned and maintained to the highest of standards.  You will work closely with the Head Porter to ensure that linen, cleaning and operational supplies are available for daily operations within the Housekeeping team.  As the Housekeeping Supervisor, you report directly into the Housekeeping Assistant Manager.  

The role:

  • Managing a team of Housekeeping Assistants who cover the rooms, the social rooms and the public areas and ensuring the 5* quality is maintained throughout
  • Fully briefing, on a daily basis, the Housekeeping Assistants who are on duty about their main tasks and the areas that need particular focus
  • Assigning roles throughout the team
  • Ensuring that deep-cleans are carried out in line with Covid regulations (training will be given on this)
  • Leading from the front and working with your team to ensure delivery of the service in a timely and efficient manner
  • Carrying out monthly stock-takes
  • Completing guest requests
  • Ensuring all check lists are kept up to date
  • Working towards KPIs and targets that are set by your manager
  • Managing your team's targets and goals and ensuring that, through your management, your team hits all of these
  • Reporting any maintenance issues immediately and in line with the Hotel's policy
  • Ensuring that all Health and Safety Policy is followed and that the work is compliant with this policy
  • Adhering to all of the Hotel's SOPs and policies in order to represent it at all times
  • Acting as the face of the Hotel at all times and meeting and greeting guests if required
  • Constantly striving to go above and beyond these above requirements 

You:

  • Speak and communicate fluently in English
  • Have experience of managing a team of Housekeeping Assistants
  • Are experienced with different cleaning techniques and also in laundry - you understand different materials and fabrics, as an example
  • Have basic chemical knowledge
  • Describe yourself as a good Team Leader and feel confident to lead from the front
  • Have fantastic attention to detail 
  • Come with a positive outlook and a can-do attitude
  • Work well in a team and get on with others and your ability to communicate with others is strong
  • Are smart and well presented, and so can act as the front face of the Hotel
  • Enjoy this work and are a hard worker with the ability to work on your own, as may be required 
  • Are flexible, adaptable and honest
