Junior Sous Chef
Greycoat Lumleys’ client is a Luxury Country House Hotel over-looking Windermere in the Lake District. They are looking for a Junior Sous Chef for their 70 cover 3 AA rosette restaurant, the kitchen has recently been renovated and they are very focused on attaining a Michelin star. This is a superb opportunity to work in a privately owned hotel committed to developing their staff and with a chef dedicated to achieving more accolades. There are plans to open a brasserie at the hotel next year to compliment the fine dining restaurant so there is superb career progression opportunities within hotel too.
Duties to include:-
Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in creating menus and running service.
Ensuring all sections are ready for service
Working alongside junior chefs, helping them to develop their skills.
Orders and stock rotation
Ensuring food safety and HAACP standards are kept
Minimising food wastage and maintaining GPs
Must have experience in a high end fine dining environment with a focus on local and seasonal produce. Must be driven to constantly improve themselves and those around them, helping motivate a team to be the best they can be. The hotel puts a big emphasis on working as a team so you must be willing to occasionally work outside your comfort zone to deliver the best experience for the guests.
