A client of Greycoat Lumleys is looking for a hardworking experienced couple to join their busy family home. The property is their second residence and the family like to visit at the weekends so the property needs to be taken care of during the week. The household is fully staffed so the candidates must be happy to work alongside other employees. The family have family dogs and cats, so it is very important the couple are happy to care for them when needed.



Housekeeping duties

The Housekeeper has the overall responsibility for ensuring the household is cleaned, maintained and orgainsed to the highest standards and per the family’s specifications and preferences. Typical responsibilities include dusting, vacuuming, mopping, caring for all aspects of family’s laundry, and general tidying of all areas. In addition to cleaning and general tidying, the housekeeper is also expected to take out the trash and recycling, keeping track of inventory levels, overseeing maintenance appointments, and assisting with packing for family travel, etc.


Handyman/ household maintenance duties - Required: Clean driving license, excellent DIY knowledge  


Working from the family’s home with their home support team to oversee suppliers, contractors and various appointments as needed. Sourcing suppliers necessary i.e. florists, dry cleaners, maintenance workers and maintaining excellent relationships with suppliers. Ensuring all maintenance contracts are negotiated, documented, stored and well monitored and maintaining an up-to-date supplier list. Oversight of all deliveries, renovation projects and general maintenance of the residence; making the client aware of any necessary repairs or purchases that are beyond the scope of the household staff. Monitoring the progress of projects, to ensure that they are being prioritised in accordance with the Principle’s wishes and that outcomes are being reached in a satisfactory time scale and to the standard expected. Proactively implementing and improving systems within the house. Ensuring the property is always ‘guest ready’, to include; checking that all equipment is working, undertaking the walk through as necessary and keeping the household fully stocked with necessary supplies at all times.




Start Date: Immediately

Salary: Fantastic salary (dependent on experience)

Holidays: 28 days including bank holidays, to be taken at a time that suits the family

Working week: Monday to Friday flexibility for Friday evenings and occasional weekend support

Accommodation: Live-in cottage on the grounds, one bed, one bath with living area.

Driving: Essential one candidate is a confident driver with a clean license
