Live in Head Gardener Job, Surrey

We have a lovely position for a pro-active, hands on and dedicated Head Gardener to take care of 5 acres of formal gardens on a beautiful Family Estate in Surrey. The head gardener will oversee large gardening projects and manage the additional staff and budgets as well as overseeing and participating in the day-to-day running of your garden. 

Duties to include but not limited to:

• Garden Design and grounds development
• Budget management, oversee large gardening projects
• Oversee and manage the assistant gardener / gardeners  
• Hands on formal and informal gardening
• Implement and maintain a kitchen garden
• Care and maintenance of a greenhouse
• Upkeep of the woodlands and informal grounds
• Upkeep of water features / ponds
• Maintenance of the swimming pool
• Use and upkeep of garden machinery
• Driving duties to support the family

The ideal Head Gardener will be an enthusiastic and passionate Head Gardener, with a helpful and positive attitude, the gardener must work well with others and have a professional and personable personality. This is a fully staffed estate, so communication is incredibly important.

Start date: For the right candidate

Working week: Monday – Friday

Accommodation: One bedroom apartment - all bills included

Driving: Essential

Salary: £35k + GPA
