They are looking for an experienced Head Gardener to join the team to manage the gardeners on a daily basis, who can ensure, when the estate manager is on holiday, that the estate is run smoothly and who can take responsibility in his absence in dealing with contractors etc.

The property is situated in 12 acres of garden with a further 600 acres for farm land.

As a Head Gardener your responsibility is the 12 acres which is made up of a large kitchen garden, including a green house, where an abundance of fruits and vegetables are grown.

It is essential that you have experience in propagating & growing fruits & vegetables and bring creativity to the kitchen garden as this supplies the main house and the community.

The gardens are well established, it’s a large country garden with roses, wisteria, it has many herbaceous borders, again they require someone with some creativity each season to make it colourful and a joy for the family to walk around each day.

You should know the horticulture calendar, plan and prepare yourself and the team and be able to give regular updates to the Estate Manager on the days ahead.

It’s a hands-on role and requires a candidate with previous management experience and a good communicator is essential.
