Housekeeper Job (Live In) nr Malpas Cheshire

Our client is looking for an experienced Housekeeper to joint a small team to look after a family home near Malpas.  You need to have a keen eye for detail and be happy to carry out all Housekeeping duties to a high standard undertaking a range of domestic duties and generally supporting the family.

Accommodation is offered to suit the candidate - partners / children / pets considered.  Rent free and council tax paid.

Housekeeping duties will include:

  • To provide a professional and discrete service to the Family and their guests at all times
  • Proactively undertake major cleaning projects and deep cleans as required
  • Undertake daily cleaning and tidying duties in the main house whilst working to a cleaning schedule
  • Manage regular cleaning of outbuildings, staff room, pool area, guest flats, barns and offices, working alongside and supervising other housekeeping staff
  • Liaise regularly with the House Manager and PA on Family, staff, property logistics and tradespeople schedules, including rota management
  • Responsibility for laundry and linen management for the Family and guests where appropriate, including sewing and darning and working with external laundry providers
  • Prepare and clean all Family and guestrooms on a regular basis, including making and changing beds, preparing rooms for occupancy and quick turn arounds for guests with other housekeeping staff
  • Complete service checks, including coffee machines, fireplaces, lightbulbs, reporting any issues to the House Manager
  • Maintain internal pest control procedures, working and liaising with the external provider
  • Procure cleaning, linen and household products, managing the storeroom and budgets to meet housekeeping requirements
  • Assist with fireplace setting and cleaning with the wider team
  • Manage refuse and recycling, ensuring correct disposal of waste across the property
  • Work closely with the House Manager to plan and coordinate any remedial work or repairs
  • Provide support with Family logistics and undertake ad-hoc driving duties and school runs for the children in line with the driving rota
  • Contribute to weekly staff meetings whilst completing ad-hoc/basic household admin
  • Sharing responsibilities with team members to sign for and accept Estate and House deliveries, distributing accordingly and efficiently.

Security Duties

Working with the Family and wider team to assist with occasional basic security duties:

  • Locking, alarming, and securing the property and outbuildings
  • Opening and closing of the property as needed when the Family are away

Family Support Duties

  • Basic preparation of food and cooking for the Family with batch cooked or pre-prepared meals for the weekends, including any additional guests
  • Work with the Gardening Team to procure seasonal food from the garden to incorporate into meals
  • Liaising with the House Manager and PA on event arrangements and assisting with event preparation
  • Occasionally transporting the children to school and other activities or appointments including evening after school clubs on a rota basis
  • Supporting with dog walking and sitting when the Family are away

The working hours will be 40 hours per week working 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Sunday with 2 days off

£35,000+ gpa
