Live in Housekeeper/Cook job
A down to earth, friendly lady in Hampstead is looking for a Live in Housekeeper/Cook to help her out. Mum has 3 grown up children, one son at sixth form boarding school who is off to University next year and then two older children who are already at University.
All the children are home in the holidays, and the youngest son some weekends, so this is when the house is busier but then the family do also travel in the holidays. The family have an old medium sized dog.
Mum is very hands on and currently has part time help only. However, from September this year mum is going to be studying part time and working also, so you will be in charge of overseeing the home and ensuring everything runs smoothly as she will be too busy.
The house is newly renovated and your duties will include:
- Cleaning, dusting, laundry, ironing
- House Management tasks – running errands, grocery shopping, liaising with contractors etc
- Simple cooking when needed- typically just the evening meal. During term time this is only for mum who eats small meals such as soups and salads. During the holidays the children may also require a simple meal but also like to cook themselves too sometimes. Mum may want to cook some evenings too.
- Dog walking- 3 short walks a day as dog is old
This is an informal household and they are looking for someone motivated, calm, quiet and conscientious to become part of the family.
The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, be proactive, efficient and enjoy going the extra mile for their employer.
This role can be guaranteed for 1 year minimum, possibly two or more years, however this will depend on the outcome of mums studying and work at the time and what the children are then up to.
