Live in Maintenance / Grounds man Job in Oxfordshire

We have a great opportunity for a live in Maintenance  / Estate assistant. The ideal candidate will be physically fit and able to work independently and well with others. The candidate must have experience working in a similar position and with high standards of work and attention to detail.

Other staff employed:

Part time handyman, part time Gardener and full time estate steward. The Grounds man will ideally hold a chain saw and spraying certificate, with cutting and felling experience 

Duties to include:

  • Mowing of lawns and paths
  • Woodland management
  • Vermin control
  • Hedge trimming
  • Fence and gate  installation and maintenance
  • Topping, harrowing, rolling and spraying of pastures 
  • Care of hard tennis court
  • Maintenance, cleaning and care of three vehicles as well as tractor, mowers, tools and machinery
  • Clearance of leaves in autumn.
  • Clearance of snow and ice in winter
  • Weeding and watering in Summer
  • Maintenance of gravel path and drive 
  • Maintenance of Pond, fountain and water trough. All with pumps
  • Occasional airport and station runs and others throughout the year 
  • General property maintenance and management 
  • Security of the property
  • Collection of firewood and kindling


Routine hours being 8am to 5pm, with seasonal changes, . The candidates must be nonsmokers and speak fluent English and enjoy the rural lifestyle and ideally have own their own car

Start date:                    As soon as possible 

Working week:            Monday - Friday, (with flexibility when required)
Accommodation:         Accommodation will be provided  - a partner is welcome 

Salary:                         £25, 000 GPA (negotiable for the right candidate)
