Greycoat Lumleys are looking for a Residential Matron for a Co-Ed Day/Boarding Prep School near Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent to start in September 2019.

 

This prep school prides itself on producing children who are not only talented and high achieving but who are also generous of spirit and curious about the world and its people. The school is situated in its own woodlands and surrounded by extensive playing fields.

 

The Matron is a key role within the school and their main duty is to provide pastoral care and ensure the well-being of the School’s pupils, including the provision of routine medical care when required. 

 

Main duties:

  • Establish a positive and supportive relationship with the pupils and to be caring and supportive

  • Help ensure the welfare and wellbeing of the pupils at all times, ensuring that they understand the need for personal health and hygiene

  • Support the tidiness of dorms and changing rooms

  • Supervision of pupil’s mealtimes when on duty

  • Shopping for toiletries and other supplies for pupils when required

  • Liaise with parents as necessary regarding uniform requirements

  • Order new clothing from school uniform supplier when required and ensure that the appropriate parent is billed correctly

  • Assist the School Nurse when required e.g. cover of off-duty in the School Surgery, treatments on the landings etc

  • Administration of medicines and treatments according to medical instructions

  • Assist with pupil registration, including the completion of the Pupil Fire List at night time

  • Liaise with other staff and parents when necessary

  • Day-to-day organisation of the linen room

  • Assist in the Chapel by maintaining chapel fabrics including the hangings and general care of the chapel and the robes

  • Attend staff inset days when required

  • First Aid training is kept updated

 

A diver with own car would be hugely beneficial.

 

The successful candidate will need to obtain a DBS which Greycoat Lumleys can assist with.

 

Start: September 2019
