We are looking for a talented Sous Chef ready for an exciting opportunity to work in the beautiful Channel Islands. This would suit a great natural cook with the experience and repertoire that would translate to a quality island pub.

 

As Sous Chef, you will:

 

  • Have a passion for food with a strong desire to grow in your career as a chef

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a reputable restaurant or gastropub

  • Have a natural ability in the kitchen with a broad skillset that will translate to quality, relevant and contemporary menus

  • Good leadership skills, and ability to assist in the smooth running of the kitchen in the Head Chefs absence

  • Be passionate in working with the finest locally sourced produce

  • A strong ability to demonstrate financial kitchen awareness

  • Ability to maintain high standards of hygiene, health and safety, administration and organization

  • Be self-motivated and have the maturity to assist in the growth and continuous development of the menu and business as a whole

  • Be an excellent team player both in the kitchen and all areas of the business

  • Have a desire to learn and continue to develop professionally as well as educating and enthusing the rest of the team on food, in particular the front of house

  • Further qualities required are: an exceptional work ethic, a ‘yes’ and positive attitude, bags of energy, going above and beyond, professional appearance at all times, good time management, calm and measured approach, working well under pressure, adaptable and approachable

  • Have experience in outside catering and functions of a high standard

  • Have a love for the outdoors, meeting people in the community, representing the company well and to have fun in the work place

 

 

 

 

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 depending on experience

Hours: 5 days per week with 2 off – shift pattern

Accommodation – Own bedroom, free WIFI, spacious

Return flight to the UK

Meals on duty

Tips are shared equally between staff and paid weekly

Discretionary bonus at the end of the financial year based on performant and business profits
