A client of ours - a long-standing London-based company specialising in luxury events and bespoke catering – is looking for a Sous Chef to join their catering team in South-West London. The company prides itself on its superb food with a creative approach.

In this exciting and fast-paced environment, the right candidate will be creative, organised and willing to learn new methods and skills.

Chefs de Partie who can demonstrate the ability to take the next step up will also be considered for the role.

The role:

  • Working very closely with the Executive Head Chef and the rest of the brigade to develop new food concepts
  • In addition to being a hands-on leader in the kitchen, prepping and plating restaurant-quality food for some of the UK’s most prestigious and high profile events
  • Managing the team in the absence of the Executive Head Chef
  • Working on events, which includes cooking and presenting tastings to clients
  • Menu creation and development

Essential skills/experience

  • 5+ years of experience in a high-end restaurant or fast-paced catering environment
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Robust communication skills
  • Confident personality and ability to create a positive relationship with other chefs
  • Reliability and flexibility with hours as you will be required to work evenings and weekends
  • Hard-working attitude and proactivity
  • Passionate for food and different cuisines
  • Attention to detail and creativity

Specifications:

  • Sous Chef Salary: £32,000 to £36,000 GPA
  • Senior Sous Chef Salary: £38,000 to £43,000 GPA
  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday 08:30-17:00, with evenings and weekends when required
  • Paid overtime beyond the hours above
  • Start: ASAP
