Writing the perfect CV for Private Household work

  • Objective: state what kind of role you are looking for
  • Work History: start with your most recent job and work backwards.
  • Make sure you explain any gaps when you were not working and include:
  • Employment dates: e.g. May 2015 - December 2017
  • Provide the reason for the employment coming to an end e.g. the

    • Education and qualifications: give details of your educational background and list any professional qualifications that you hold

      • Cleaning a 4 bedroom house
      • Polishing silver
      • Caring for delicate clothing
      • Walking the dog
      • Running errands
      • Laundry and ironing
      • Helping look after 4 children who were 4 months, 2, 5 & 7 years old at the start of the employment
      • Taking the children to school and activities
      • Preparing daily meals for the whole family
