Live in Couple Job in Somerset
A fantastic role for a lovely returning client of Greycoat’s, who is looking for a Live in Couple (Head Gardener & Part Time Housekeeper) to look after their weekend residence in a beautiful rural location in Somerset, close to Exmoor National Park.
The family also employ another Live in Couple (Placed by Greycoat) who work at weekends and a Part Time Gardener once a week.
They are a very informal family, with high standards, who have employed staff for a number of years, so you must be happy to work as a team.
The property is a large 5 bedroom house with a 2 bedroom guest cottage that sits in 70 acres of land, including formal gardens (1.5 acres), lawns (5 acres), kitchen garden, 2 ponds and a small lake and woodlands (15 acres). They are looking for a Gardener to work alongside the other full time gardener/house maintenance man (part of the other Couple) and assist with all general garden maintenance duties to include but not limited to:
Lawn care, strimming, hedge cutting, maintaining a vegetable garden, weeding, pruning, planting, chopping wood, cleaning gutters, driveway and patio areas as well as cleaning the house cars as an ad hoc duties. use of chainsaws, tree work, use of tractor, pond work, pool maintenance, wood chip burner
In addition to the 2 full time outdoor team, there is a part time gardener who comes one day a week
Housekeeper role will include cleaning, washing and ironing. The client has very high standards and is looking for a highly efficient housekeeper who is very organised and will keep the house immaculate and happy to work alongside the full time Housekeeper. Someone who enjoys occasional cooking would be a big bonus but not essential. The part time position will be 3 days per week when the full time housekeeper has her days off and also include some work when the housekeeper is on holiday.
Accommodation: Separate lovely refurbished 2-bedroom bungalow with a lovely SW facing private garden on the property - Pets welcome
Start date: April / May
Days: Monday to Friday
- Gardener – Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week
- Housekeeper – 3 days a week, approx. 24 hour a week
Salary - £55,000 - £60,000 gross per annum, depending on experience
