Live-in Housekeeper / Cook Job Belgravia

A highly experienced Housekeeper / Cook is needed for a notable family for their Formal London residence. The family home must be kept to an immaculate standard at all times whether the family are in residence or otherwise. They have three children who are at boarding school and University so return home some weekends or holidays. The family often travel or stay at their main residence in the country. 

Their home in London is a residence in exceptional condition with 5 bedrooms across several floors. There is a non-passenger service lift at the property. Further to these bedrooms there is a basement studio flat in which the successful candidate would reside. You will be responsible for all housekeeping, cleaning and laundry duties to a very high standard. You will manage supplies, wardrobes, assist with packing and unpacking. A high standard of Cooking is required when the family are in residence and on rare occasions you may be asked to cook for small formal and informal dinner parties.

Duties required but not limited to:

  • All household cleaning duties to an excellent standard

    Care of fine furnishings, curtains, fabrics, marble

  • Laundry and ironing of delicate fabrics, care of silks and cashmere

  • Wardrobe management and labelling of clothes

  • Bed linen changes. 

  • Cooking to a high family-style standard – ability to cater for small dinner parties

  • Shopping and household accounts and supply management of pantry, food stocks, laundry and cleaning items

  • Errands / dry cleaners / post office / supermarket shopping as necessary.

  • Front of house, taking deliveries, welcoming guests 

Candidate requirements: 

  • You will be professional, presentable, energetic and physically fit - this is a large home.

  • You will be honest and hardworking with exceptional standards for yourself and in your work

  • Discretion and confidentiality are essential.

  • Fluent English and strong communication skills are required.

  • Confident in the kitchen and in preparing meals. The family preference is for healthy Mediterranean-style cooking

  • Non-smoker.

Start Date: Will wait for the right person, can start straight away.

Salary: Excellent salary depending on experience

Children Age: Older children at Boarding school and University

Working Days & hours: Monday - Friday with some weekend work required.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, from 9am – 5pm (when in residence stay until 7/8pm)

Accommodation: 1-bedroom studio flat with private entrance in basement (double bedroom, bathroom, utility room/kitchenette )
