Live in Housekeeper / Cook required in Devon
A Lovely client of Greycoat Lumleys needs an experienced and intelligent housekeeper/Cook. There are other staff employed at the property including a PA to liaise with. They are looking for someone who can run the home when they are in residence. It is a busy household during this time so you need to be organised efficient and proactive.
The principals split their time on average 50/50 between this property and their London residence and are usually down in blocks of 2-3 weeks at a time, except in the summer when they are usually there for about 6 weeks.
Flexibility is key, you need to manage your time. When the house is busy ( About 10 times per year) additional local housekeeping staff are brought in to help.
Duties to include
- Hands on Housekeeping, Cleaning, Washing and Ironing
- Daily good family-style food. Breakfast, Light lunch ( eg. Soup / salad) and supper dinner party standard would be an advantage and cooking for shoots
- Helping when the family entertain
- Flower arranging
- Overseeing additional local staff when the house is busy
Partners and pets will be considered. Driving essential, Must have own car but car provided for work purposes. Please only apply if you have relevant private household experience and checkable references.
Days: Weekends when the principal is in residence Monday to Friday when the principal is not there. Any overtime worked will be given off in lieu
Hours: Approx 40 hrs with flexibility on weekends/ Shift work when principles in residence
Accommodation 2-bed separate cottage near the main house
Salary Up to £40,000 Gross per annum Negotiable for the right candidate
