Live in or Live out Housekeeper  Job, Oxfordshire

We have a great position for a polished and reliable Housekeeper to take care of a beautiful weekend/holiday residence in Oxfordshire. The main property consists of 10 bedrooms and there are 2 rental properties on the estate. The principal has two grown-up children and a Dog so you must be dog-friendly.

Also employed are 2 Gardeners, a Chef and PA and a part-time Housekeeper who you will need to liaise with. The principal also has a property in London which you may be required to assist with from time to time. The principal is looking for someone polished and professional who has a great eye for detail and has high standards of housekeeping.

 

Housekeeper duties: 

  • Household care, cleaning, organising, and managing.
  • Laundry and ironing.
  • Silver polishing and care for the family china.
  • Cleaning and caring for household valuables including art and rugs.
  • Flower arranging and table setting with flowers from the garden.
  • Laying fires, cleaning the fireplace, and booking the annual chimney sweep service.
  • Preparing for the arrival of visitors, welcoming them, and caring for their various needs.
  • Detailed attention to the preparation and presentation of the bed linens and bathrooms.
  • Wardrobe management, including delicate laundry care.
  • Making household purchases.
  • Supporting the family chef for food/grocery orders and deliveries.
  • Table service (formal and informal).
  • Cooking small meals if the chef is not present.
  • Liaising with the London team including the PA and housekeeper.
  • Care of the family dog

 

A level of reasonable flexibility is needed to ensure that the family’s needs are met. Any overtime worked will given back in lieu. You will need to be available for annual holidays, such as Bank holidays, Easter and Christmas unless the family are on vacation.

Working week:  Thursday – Monday when the family are in residence, Tuesday & Wednesday off.  Typically Split shifts.

Monday – Friday when the family are not in Residence 8am – 4pm 40 hours per week overtime with be given as time off in  lieu 

Salary: £40,000 + gross per annum, negotiable depending on experience

Accommodation: Beautiful 2 bedroom self-contained apartment with large kitchen and sitting room with its own entrance. Utility bills covered by the employer. 

Pets and partners will be considered

Holiday: 20 days paid holiday plus 8 days Bank holiday (should you be required to work these days you will receive them back in Lieu)
