Live out or Live in Senior Housekeeper in Dorset

A lovely relaxed down-to-earth family is looking for a live-in or Live-out experienced Housekeeper in Dorset. This is the family's second home which they tend to visit during the school holidays the property is a stunning period property with 5 Bedrooms, 3 reception rooms, 3 bathrooms and sits on approximately 6 acres of land the household has lots of natural limestone flooring and marble surfaces so someone who has an understanding on what products to use would be an advantage. Also employed at the property are 2 part-time gardeners. The family are happy to offer live-in accommodation to a candidate who does not live within commutable distance. They are in the process of adding various other outbuildings over the next few years one of the outbuildings will eventually become the housekeeper's residence until then the family are happy to rent a property in the local village.

The family has 4 members, 2 adults and two school-age children. The family do not have any pets. They are looking for someone switched on who can self-manage, can think ahead most of all has a friendly and welcoming presence when they arrive. You would be required to work during weekends during busy periods when the family is in residence. When they are not in residence you will work regular hours during the week. Any overtime worked will be given back as time off in Lieu.

The principals enjoy cooking when they are in residence although would love to find someone who enjoys cooking also and would be happy to assist or if someone can cook some simple meals and snacks for the children or help with food prep beforehand. This is a unique role where the family are ideally looking for someone to stay with them long term they hope that the successful candidate will be confident in taking on House management duties and PA-related duties as time goes on and eventually the family will employ an additional housekeeper who you would oversee and your role would then turn into more of a House manager/PA. The principals are happy to pay a great salary for the right person.

Your Duties to include:

All housekeeping duties
Cleaning, including deep cleaning
Laundry and ironing
Packing and unpacking suitcases
Light cooking simple family style on occasion, cooking for children and preparing snacks, batch cooking
Additional tasks such as running errands, ordering household supplies and food shopping.
Ensuring that the home is prepped for their arrival
Cleaning and laying open fires
Wardrobe management
Implementing and creating up-to-date inventories and keeping an eye on stock control
Service duties for when the family entertain (would be a bonus, not a necessity).
Some occasional driving duties

This is a great role for someone who is Positive upbeat and personable. Who has experience in private households and has checkable references. Must be a driver with a clean driver's license.

Start: As soon as the right person is found.

Accommodation: Separate accommodation in the village until the property onsite is ready both can accommodate pets partners and dependants.
Hours: 40 hours per week (flexible for more when the family is in residence)
