Christmas Chef Job
A lovely client of Greycoat Lumleys is looking for an experienced and adaptable private chef to cater to a traditional Christmas gathering (Christmas Eve, Christmas day and Boxing day) in a large country house in West Sussex. The ideal chef will be responsible for delivering high-quality, seasonal and well-executed meals over the Christmas period for between 12-14 guests however this may rise to 18-20 for certain meals.
you will cook between the 24th-26th of December. The Salary will be £400 on 24th, £800 on the 25th & 26th. This is a Live-in role you will have a room and shared bathroom provided on site, the ideal candidate will have strong experience working in private households, with proven experience to delivering traditional Christmas lunches with high standards of presentation and taste, a creative seasonal approach to non-Christmas meals e.g Ottolenghi-style dishes). Access to a car is preferred but this isn't a non-negotiable
Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and cook all meals to a high standard
- Liaise with the housekeeper regarding meal times and service
- Provide an ingredient shopping list prior to arrival – all items will be pre-ordered and delivered to the property
- Maintain a clean and tidy kitchen, respectful of other staff working within the house
- Prepare food in advance for self-service meals where required
- Collaborate with household staff who will manage table settings, serving, and dishwashing
