Boarding Assistant Job I am working with an independent day and boarding school for boys aged 8-18 set within the south downs national park. The are recruiting for a boarding assistant to join them from January 2024 until the end of the academic year. The Role: The main purpose of the role is to assist the Head of Boarding to provide a stimulating, safe environment for boarders so that they can work effectively to achieve academic success and personal development. Assistant Matron Job

Assistant Matron Job A beautiful school in Berkshire is looking for a Matron to join their boarding house team to start in January 2024.  This is a great opportunity to take your first step into the pastoral care arena in a small country boarding house with a homely feel.  It is a wonderful place to work and comes highly recommended.  Due to a restructure the school is looking for a Matron for a boys' house ages ranging from 7-13.  The role would work closely with the two Senior Matrons and two gap year students but would ultimately be responsible for the house and the duties. The role: Looking after the medical and domestic duties within the house.  Medically, ensuring that the pupils have taken their daily medication (if required), to be aware of any medical conditions, to liaise and work closely with the Medical Centre, and to dispense medication as and when it's required.  Domestically, to be responsible for the hygiene and cleanliness of the house, including monitoring all laundry and taking responsibility for that.  Managing a team of cleaners and directing them in their work.  Pastorally you will be a listening ear to the pupils and will support them in their extra-curricular activities - attending games and theatre productions and concerts where required.  Work closely with the Senior Matrons to ensure the safe running of the house. General maintenance and liaising with the maintenance team to make sure the house is in a good state. The role would be to work within the school during the day and as an assistant houseparent in the girls boarding house in the evenings/weekends.  Key tasks for each role include: Assistant Houseparent: Ensure all dormitories are well laid out and presented. Supervise washroom and bedtimes.  Ensure that information is disseminated to boarders through notices at supper.  Ensure pupils’ rooms are neat and tidy and there are no sweets, money, medication or other valuables in the room in accordance with boarding policy. Help in the laundry and dispensary. Administer first aid.  Be on call overnight, including evenings and weekends according to the duty rota. Teaching Assistant Duties Provide teaching support in small groups and where necessary be assigned to individual pupils to aid the teacher, in and out of the classroom. Manage group behaviour according to the School Behaviour Policy. Respond to pupils’ needs in class and if necessary, offer group/individual support as appropriate and if required source appropriate resources. Liaise with the class teacher to understand the objectives of each intervention/lesson. Assist with marking of class work and homework.
