Domestic Couple Job, Aberdeenshire

Greycoat Lumleys are seeking a kind, capable, and discreet Domestic Couple to support the smooth running of a beautifully restored Private Estate in rural Aberdeenshire.

This is a long-term opportunity for a professional couple who bring warmth, initiative, and pride to their work and who value the rhythm of life in the countryside. You'll be joining a supportive, established estate team, and caring for a home with beautiful interiors, fine materials, and a relaxed but thoughtful pace.

The household includes three friendly cats and a small dog, so genuine comfort around animals is essential.

Duties Include:

A Housekeeper

  • Cleaning, laundry, ironing, and wardrobe care
  • Looking after antiques, fine furnishings, and delicate finishes
  • Managing household supplies and liaising with estate contractors
  • Supporting occasional entertaining and guest arrivals
  • Light cooking or food prep, if comfortable
  • Creating a calm, organised and well-run household

A Property Maintenance / Handyperson

  • General maintenance and caretaking
  • Managing tradespeople and overseeing repairs or schedules
  • Supporting security and the smooth day-to-day operation of the property
  • Driving or errand support when needed
  • Basic gardening or seasonal outdoor work as appropriate

Candidate Qualities

  • Previous experience as a domestic couple in a private household or estate
  • Self-motivated and genuinely happy working together
  • A practical, can-do attitude with a respectful, professional approach
  • Excellent references and the right to work in the UK
  • A good understanding of privacy and discretion
  • Pet-friendly and at ease in a rural, countryside setting

 

Location: Aberdeenshire, Scotland

Accommodation: 2-bedroom private cottage + Council Tax and Fire wood

Days:  5 days per week (some flexibility appreciated)

Start Date: October/November

Salary: £80,000 GPA depending on experience
