Live In or Live Out Housekeeper Job in West Sussex
A family in West Sussex is looking for a housekeeper to join a team of two other housekeepers. You will be working as part of a small team with two other housekeepers who maintain and run the estate on behalf of the owners.
Contract hours will be an average of 48 hours per week. Due to the nature of the house, actual working hours will be variable depending on house usage. Therefore, there will be two working patterns.
Pattern A: When the house is occupied you will work 12 hours per day for 6 days a week (typically 8am-8pm).
Pattern B: When house is quiet you will work 8 hours per day for 3 day or 4 days a week in rota with the other housekeepers to maintain the property.
Both patterns include a one-hour lunch break plus smaller breaks depending on the activities of the day. These patterns could include weekend working and will be set in agreement with the Estate Manager. Pattern A is likely to be worked for 25 weeks per year with Pattern B the rest of the year and so balancing working hours to 48 hours per week across the year.
You should be adaptable and flexible and happy to work as part of a small team. It is important to have a good sense of humour and a willingness to learn. You should have a Good level of spoken English, speaking Portuguese would be a bonus. You should have a good eye for and attention to detail. Experience in housekeeping is essential as you will need to have product, fabric and surface knowledge.

The duties would include but not be limited to:
Keeping the home organised, clean, and tidy including seasonal deep cleans
Making beds and turning down of an evening
Management of the laundry, ironing, and wardrobe arrangements.
Assist with the preparation of food and possibly some light meals.
Assist in the serving of food and drink for meals, parties, and other occasions.
Assist with receiving deliveries to the house and answering the door to visitors.
Desirable.
Ability to speak Portuguese or Spanish
Food preparation and cooking
UK driving license.
Starting Salary: Flexible based on experience.
Accommodation: There is rent and bill free single bedroom accommodation available on site. However, it is not essential that you live in.
