Greycoat Lumleys’ clients are seeking an experienced and reliable Housekeeper to assist with the smooth running of their family home in beautiful rural Perthshire. The household consists of a busy family with two young children (ages 1 and 3 years) who require an organised, proactive Housekeeper to maintain their substantial family home to a high standard.

The property features 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 WCs, 2 offices, and multiple reception rooms including playroom and music room, requiring meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Located in the countryside, the position requires reliable personal transport.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated housekeeping professional to work with a welcoming family in the stunning Scottish countryside setting.


Primary Responsibilities

Housekeeping Duties
• General cleaning throughout the house to a consistently high standard
• Laundry and ironing for the entire family including delicate items
• Tidying and organizing all areas of the home
• Bedroom management including changing bed linens and maintaining guest rooms
• Bathroom maintenance ensuring all facilities are spotless
• Kitchen cleaning and organization


Household Management
• Adult laundry and ironing (nanny handles children’s clothing)
• Wardrobe organisation and seasonal clothing rotation for parents
• Pantry management - monitoring and restocking food supplies and household essentials
• Cleaning supplies inventory - ensuring adequate stock of all housekeeping materials
• Contractor liaison - coordinating with gardeners, maintenance staff, and service providers
• Meal preparation - planning and preparing family meals, batch cooking, and meal planning support
• Holiday visitor assistance - preparing guest rooms when family visits during holidays
• Household errands as required
• General household organization and decluttering


Essential Requirements

Experience & Skills
• Professional housekeeping experience
• Experience working in family homes, preferably with young children present
• Good cooking skills for family meal preparation and meal planning
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication skills for liaising with contractors and suppliers
• Attention to detail and high cleaning standards
• Ability to work independently and use own initiative

• Experience managing household inventory and supplies
• Flexibility to adapt to changing household needs

• Reliable and trustworthy with excellent references
• Discreet and professional approach to family life
• Positive, proactive attitude
• Child-friendly and comfortable working around young children
• Non-smoker

Practical Requirements
• Full clean UK driving licence preferred
• Own reliable transport or ability to reach Perthshire location
• Strong physical fitness for housekeeping duties
• Excellent English language skills

 

Accommodation is not provided

Location: Perthshire, Scotland close to Perth

Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week (9am-5pm)

Hourly rate:  £15 to £17 GPH
