Live in Couple Job - Full time Gardener & Part time Housekeeper 

A lovely returning client of Greycoat are looking for a kind, flexible, and family-orientated couple to join them in their beautiful home in Hampshire. This is very much a long-term position, and they are looking for a couple who will become part of their happy family and who will really relish and enjoy their roles. They have 3 children, (12, 10, 6) and a sweet Golden Retriever.

The gardens encompass approximately 7 acres surrounding the main house, with lovely borders, roses, lawns and mature trees. At the heart of the grounds lies a charming walled garden, which is home to a thriving Kitchen Garden, Fruit cage and orchard that produces wonderful fruit and vegetables that the family and couple are able to enjoy throughout the year.

They are looking for a full time Gardener/Handyman/Groundsman, and a part time

Housekeeper. 

Duties to include but not limited to:

Gardener/Handyman/Groundsman duties:

  • General gardening, weeding, watering etc.
  • Planting and nurturing the large kitchen garden and fruit cage 
  • Garden maintenance duties such as lawn mowing, strimming, trimming
  • Upkeep of the borders, hedges and shrubs
  • Pruning roses and fruit trees
  • Mulching 
  • DIY and basic interior and exterior maintenance
  • Swimming pool maintenance
  • Occasional driving duties
  • Dog care

Housekeeper duties:

  • Keeping the house clean, tidy and in order
  • Laundry, linen, and ironing 
  • Very occasional babysitting
  • House and dog sitting when the family are away

The most important part for the family is to find the right couple for them, who are warm, kind and family-orientated, as well as flexible and discreet. And who are equally dedicated and looking for a long- term position with this happy and supportive family. They also want them to love the countryside and be happy and connected to the lovely area where the family live.

Start date: September / October, but flexible for the right couple

Working week:

  • Gardener/Handyman/Groundsman: Monday to Friday: 8am – 4/5pm (40 hours a week)
  • Housekeeper: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 12:30pm (20 hours a week)

Accommodation: Pretty 2-bedroom lodge at the end of the drive, with own garden on the edge of a charming little village in Hampshire. The location is 15 mins from Andover, 30 mins from Newbury, and 30 mins from Marlborough. As part of the package- all bills included (excluding Telephone/Internet) 

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 GPA – depending on experience

Driving: Essential, ideally both
