Live in Couple Job in Wiltshire 

An enthusiastic and committed domestic couple is sought after to oversee the smooth running of a 12-bedroom family home in Wiltshire for a returning client. The family have 3 children at boarding at school (17, 15 & 13). The family also have 3 dogs, including two Labradors and one Dachshund.

There is a houseman also employed who assists with the housekeeping duties, and between you there will be a rota where you work alternating weekends. The principal is open to if you want to work five days per week and have your days off midweek or on the weekends depending on the rota or work a ten-day stint and have four days off in a row, giving you the chance to stay away if you wish.

Also employed is a team of 3 gardeners.

Housekeeper/Cook duties:

  • Work alongside the houseman to complete all cleaning and laundry duties
  • Running errands and accepting deliveries
  • Assist when the family entertains
  • The principal loves cooking but it would be helpful if you could cook or prep occasional meals as well batch cook meals for the freezer
  • When the family entertain be confident to cook family style meals such as a chicken roast or full English breakfast
  • Managing the house

Maintenance/Handyman duties:

  • Carry out maintenance tasks inside and outside of the home
  • Look after the biomass boiler and plant room
  • Swimming pool and tennis court care
  • Driving duties and vehicle maintenance
  • Animal care
  • Liaising with and supervising contractors
  • House and pet sitting when the family are away
  • Assist with occasional shoot days, approx. 3 per year
  • Security
  • Garden maintenance assistance when required

The ideal couple will have previous experience running a family home and be looking for a long-term role. The house is often quiet through the week and much busier at the weekends and during the school holidays. You must be team players and tech savvy.

Start date: As soon as possible

Accommodation: 3-bedroom cottage, with its own garden - all bills included. Pets will be considered.

Driving: ideally both must be confident drivers

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 gross per annum

Working week: 5 days per week covering alternating weekends; 9am – 6pm
