Live in House Manager Job, Surrey
Experienced, professional and proactive House Manager to live in at a family home in Surrey and provide occasional support at London property
The clients are seeking an experienced live-in tech-savvy House Manager in Surrey, at what is currently a second home, where the family spend many weekends and holidays, with some support to be provided at the main residence in London from time to time.
The family have teenage children and a dog.
The house in Surrey has been completely renovated and will be recommissioned in May / June 2026.
Ideally the successful candidate will be in place to oversee the commissioning and co-ordinate the move in. While the household is relaxed and informal, high standards, reliability, flexibility and discretion are essential.
This senior role will oversee a live-out housekeeper / cook and will suit a House Manager who is looking for a long-term role.
Duties:
Liaise with contractors re post-renovation snagging and oversee landscaping projects
Manage Tech Infrastructure
Oversight of security of the property, including CCTV surveillance and alarm systems
Ensure smart home devices, networking, AV systems, and apps for household automation and communication are updated at all times
Oversee day to day operations of the property ensuring it is always ready for family occupation
Manage and supervise housekeeper / cook and ensure house is fully stocked
Proactively oversee and manage regular maintenance schedules for house, pool, gym and tennis court
General property (odd job) repairs, report issues promptly, scheduling and overseeing contractors / tradespeople as required
Grounds: walking the perimeter, liaising with the gardener (attends weekly)
Acting as point of contact for suppliers, including alarm / security systems
Support for London property Administration & Finance
Budgeting, bill payments, expense tracking, and vendor contracts
Detailed inventories
Overseeing health & safety
Record-keeping and maintenance logs Vehicle Management & Driving
Care for and maintenance of household vehicles as required: servicing, MOTs, fuelling, and ensuring vehicles are clean and ready for use
Some driving duties including in London with notice (e.g. airport transfers) Other
Liaising closely with the principals and their EA as needed
Assistance with errands and planning for guests / events
Start date: End May / Early June 2026
Working Hours: 40 hours per week over five days; two consecutive days mid-week off when working weekends (when family in residence)
Salary: £55,000 - £75,000 gross per annum, depending on skills and experience
Annual leave: 28 days’ paid holiday per annum, including bank holidays
