Live-in Housekeeper/Cook job, Gloucestershire
Our returning clients are seeking a housekeeper/cook to assist them at their weekend residence in the Cotswolds. The family typically stay for about 20 to 30 weekends each year and often visits for longer periods during school holidays. The household consists of two adults and their older children, and there are no pets. The property is a one-story converted barn with five bedrooms. It can be a busy environment at times, so they need someone who can think on their feet and stay very organised. The family usually resides there from Friday to Sunday or Monday. Additionally, they are in the process of purchasing a cottage in the village, for which you will be responsible for maintenance and turnover when guests stay. The cottage typically requires about six hours of work per week, which is inclusive of your typical 40-hour week.
Duties include;
Housekeeping, Laundry & Ironing
Cooking for the family, mostly 2 meals per day (informal, Ottolenghi-style recipes preferred. )
Cooking for dinner parties
Menu planning for Lunch and supper.
Driving duties, airport drop-offs
Picking up their children from time to time
The ideal person will be professional, someone who is able to efficiently manage their time, be discreet and take real pride in their work. Driving essential, Must have own car but a car provided for work purposes.
Hours: 40 hours 5 day week, days off Tues & wed or Wed/Thurs. Weekends off when the clients are not in residence
Accommodation: Separate one-bedroom accommodation 5 minutes walk from the house, a small dog would be welcome, partners will be considered.
Salary: £40,000 - 45,000 GPA based on skill set and longevity in roles.
