Nanny Position, Edinburgh EH10
Greycoat Lumley's client are seeking a loving, experienced, flexible and reliable Nanny to care for a 10 year old boy working alongside our existing Nanny. There is an older sibling in the home, however he is 14 years old and very self-sufficient.
The successful candidate will enhance continuity of care covering evenings, afternoons, annual leave and additional support when our existing Nanny is unavailable.
The role would suit a professional looking to be an integral part of family life ensuring their son thrives in a warm, nurturing, stimulating environment.
A team player attitude is essential, as is the willingness to muck-in.
The family travels around 4/5 times per year and own a property in Florida.
A competitive salary is on offer. Some weeks will require less hours depending on schedules. In return, genuine willingness to be flexible is requested.
Love of theme parks are a bonus!
Primary Responsibilities
Childcare
Care for 10 year old with ASN: Autism and ADHD
Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, educational play, and outings
Support with homework & project work from his home-schooled tutor
Maintain consistent routines that promote well-being
Practical Responsibilities
Prepare nutritious meals and snacks
Maintain tidy play areas and bedroom
Light housekeeping related to childcare duties, the family have a cleaner
Transportation and attend activities (full clean driving licence essential)
Additional Duties
Organise schedules and co-ordinate activities
Communicate daily with parents & other Nanny about children’s progress and needs
Support with bedtime routines when required
Occasional additional babysitting (by mutual agreement)
Occasional support with teenager, largely self sufficient
Travel with family & other Nanny for holidays and short trips
Providing cover during existing Nanny’s annual leave, sick leave, or other absences
Essential Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Experience working with ASN children
Relevant childcare qualifications
Current Paediatric First Aid certification (or willing to complete)
Up-to-date PVG check (or willingness to obtain)
Strong references from previous families
Personal Qualities
Positive, enthusiastic approach with genuine love for childcare
High energy and enjoyment of active play and outdoor activities
Excellent communication skills with children, teenagers and parents
Professional approach with understanding of appropriate boundaries
Parent/s can sometimes be at present at home, so candidate able to work independently in that situation
Proactive, organised, reliable
Flexible and adaptable while maintaining good routines
Animal lover (2 cats in the household)
Practical Requirements
Full clean UK driving licence
Up to date Passport
Own reliable vehicle (free parking onsite)
Non-smoker
Excellent English language skills
Salary: £30,000 GPA
