Live-in Cook Job, Mayfair Apartment, West London

(Live-in accommodation provided – private basement flat with en-suite)
We are seeking an experienced, professional, and discreet Live-in Cook to support a private family in their luxury Mayfair apartment, used as a holiday residence for approximately three months of the year.
This role places a strong emphasis on cooking and kitchen management when the family is in residence, combined with high standards of housekeeping. During periods when the family is away, the role transitions into light property management and upkeep.
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who enjoys cooking in a private household environment and is seeking a balanced role with quieter periods throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities:
When the Family is in Residence (Primary Focus – Cooking):
Planning, preparing, and serving fresh, high-quality meals on a daily basis
Confident cooking of a variety of cuisines, tailored to the family’s preferences
Managing all aspects of the kitchen, including provisioning, stock control, and cleanliness
Grocery shopping and sourcing high-quality ingredients
Kitchen organisation and maintaining excellent hygiene standards
Supporting the household with:
Housekeeping to a high standard (cleaning, laundry, ironing)
Preparing the home for daily living and guest readiness
Running errands as required
Providing attentive but unobtrusive service to the family
When the Family is Away:
Light property management and general upkeep
Regular cleaning and airing of the apartment
Managing post, deliveries, and inventories
Overseeing maintenance and liaising with contractors where required
Ensuring the property remains secure and well-presented at all times
Preparing the apartment in advance of the family’s return
Candidate Requirements:
Proven experience as a private household cook
Strong cooking skills with the ability to prepare fresh, healthy, and varied meals
Organised and confident in managing a kitchen independently
High attention to detail in both cooking and housekeeping
Discreet, trustworthy, and professional
Flexible and adaptable to changing household needs
Able to work independently during quieter periods
Right to work in the UK
Accommodation:
Private basement flat within the property
Includes en-suite bathroom
Suitable for a single occupant
Working Pattern:
Full-time, service-based role when the family is in residence
Reduced, flexible schedule when the family is away
Salary: £40,000 GPA
