Greycoat Lumleys is proud to be representing a valued returning client in the search for a professional Private Chef in the NYC area.

The well-tuned organization is seeking an experienced Private Chef for an UHNW family on the outskirts of NYC. The position is to work full-time providing meal preparation and shopping for an active, multi-generational family on a large estate. Daily duties will usually require cooking for the two main Principals in their Middle age as well as their children who visit sporadically. There are also large events through the year where the chef will be expected to lead an exterior catering team for entertainment of larger groups. The Chef’s schedule can vary at times but will revolve around a 9-hour day and a 5 day working week. 

The ideal candidate will have a number of years of experience working for high profile families and understand the level of service that is required. Longevity in one position is viewed with enthusiasm and the client anticipates that the successful candidate will commit at least three years to this position. The position will require attention to detail, working for a formal family with high expectations, fine garnishing and excellent plating skills are pre-requisites for success. Candidates who are used to working in a team environment are highly sought after as they will form part of a team in this position to provide the principals with a boutique hotel experience at all times. Experience of working in a five star hotel is excellent and is considered as a an advantage however, candidates should also show private household experience within their employment history to be seriously considered. 

Needless to say that candidates should be fully versed in dietary requirements and allergens to be successful in this position as the client might entertain guests how have gluten or lactose intolerance's. 

Responsibilities

· Lead and manage all food service, stocking, purchasing, and planning for the residence

· Prepare, provide and serve lunch and dinner daily for employers

· Provide staple snacks and meals for the home at all times

· Take the lead for some special events held at the residence from small to mid-sized dinner parties

· Provide weekly menus for employers that meet owner's dietary needs and restrictions.

· Keep running record of favourite meals and recipes

· Work continuously on new recipes and repertoire using garden fresh vegetables

· Work as part of a residence team

· Manage all aspects of the kitchen 

Qualifications

· Must have longevity and experience in a similar role

· Must have a clean driving record

· Will be open to feedback and improvements overall; flexible, collaborative and amiable style

· Upbeat and transparent personality a must.

· Must hold the utmost discretion and confidentiality standards

· Flexible schedule a must, as hours may vary at times

Candidates must have either an American Green card or American passport in order to be considered for this position. Ideally for an easy commute Candidates should reside in Queens or surrounding area. 

Candidates must show organisational commitment and take pride in their work to be successful in this position. Candidates should also take pride in their own personal hygiene and presentation, as part of the household team they are an extension of the family and their good reputation. The successful candidate would be joining a well organised and well gelled team whose sole responsibility is the excellent service to the client and they work as a unit to achieve this. Salary: $120,000 - $125,000 GPA

Upon completion of Probation (3 months): Full Health, Dental and 401K, Vision and Life Insurance + additional benefits.
