Candidates must hold a valid Enhanced DBS check or be willing to obtain one. We are able to arrange this on your behalf at a cost of £64. If you live outside the UK, we require you to get a police check in your country of residence.

In addition, a verbal reference from within the last six months will be required. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider applications from candidates who are unwilling to meet these requirements.

 

Private Lodge Chef

Location: Lairg, Scottish Highlands
Dates: 20th – 27th September
Schedule: breakfast, lunch and dinner
Accommodation: Private bedroom and bathroom

Rate: £350 per day
Guests: 12-14

 

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and private chef to cook for a week in the Scottish Highlands. The client would ideally like the chef to cook for a weekend at their home in West Sussex beforehand. Dates flexible.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare fresh, seasonal meals using high-quality local produce, including lobster and Langoustines
  • Breakfast: Buffet-style breakfast with eggs cooked to order
  • Lunch: Light options such as soup, salads, quiche, etc.
  • Dinner: Canapés followed by traditional, seasonal dishes using local produce (beef, lobster, seafood, fish, haggis). Meals are served family-style at the table — no plated service
  • Dessert: Cheese boards or simple tarts

Additional Information

  • The group consists of guests in their 60s and prefers classic, well-cooked food over tasting menus
  • We are seeking an experienced chef with a background in lodge cooking, including butchery and game preparation
  • Fully equipped kitchen including an Aga, gas cooker, Magimix, KitchenAid, and more
  • The host is a professional chef and may assist in the kitchen
