Short-Term Live out Housekeepers near Reading, Berkshire 

A client of Greycoat Lumleys is looking for experienced full-time Housekeepers, hands-on duties, required for a 15-bedroom country house during Christmas time. You will be liaising with the COO, PA, Head gardener and his team, and Estate workers for property maintenance. There are 2 already employed in the house and will need to be managed.

It is a traditional country household but also a family home. The house is very busy during Christmas.

 Duties will include:

  • Hands-on cleaning, laundry, and ironing to a high standard

  • You should have experience in the care of antiques and fabrics, care of public and private rooms.

  • Bedmaking and changing linen.

  • Preparing the playroom/nursery for grandchildren

  • Setting table for meals

  • Liaising with the chef when entertaining.

  • Must be a dog lover and confident with large boisterous dogs (2 Labradors and a miniature long-haired dachshund.)

  • Shopping locally, going to the cleaners, shopping at supermarkets, taking prescriptions to Chemist, and other errands as needed. 

Driving essential must have own car but car provided for work purposes. 

Salary: £16 - £20 GPH double on Christmas day and Bank Holidays 

Days and Hours:

             24/12: 2 Housekeeper from 7am to 3pm shift, 2 Housekeepers from 1pm to 9pm

             25/12: 2 Housekeeper from 7am to 3pm shift, 2 Housekeepers from 1pm to 9pm

             26/12: 2 Housekeeper from 7am to 3pm shift, 2 Housekeepers from 1pm to 9pm

             30/12: 1 Housekeepers from 1pm to 9pm

             31/12: 1 Housekeepers from 1pm to 9pm

             01/01: 2 Housekeeper from 7am to 3pm shift, 2 Housekeepers from 1pm to 9pm
