A great opportunity has arisen for a Sous Chef to join a friendly and Vibrant company preparing and cooking for Executive guests and a variety of food for staff. You will be working alongside the Head Chef to manage daily kitchen activities, including overseeing staff, aiding with menu preparation, ensuring food quality and freshness, and monitoring ordering and stocking. Provides meal quality and consistency by following designed recipes. 

The Role; 

  • Support the Head Chef in managing the kitchen team and food production.

  • Deputise for the Head Chef when absent or on leave.

  • Implement and maintain standards for food production, development, and chef behaviours on site.

  • Deliver craft-based training and mentoring to the site based junior team.

  • Drive sales and profitability through implementing both individual and food-team initiatives.

  • Ensure our teams work in clean, safe and compliant working environments.

  • Ensure standards for food presentation are always maintained.

  • Ensure food policy and strategy in areas such as allergen management are implemented and followed. and food safety is proactively managed across the business.

  • Support proactive client and customer relationships.  

You:

Experience: 

  • Technically proficient and qualified to an industry-recognised standard.

  • Level 3 Food Hygiene qualified as a minimum.

  • Minimum 1 year’ experience in a similar role.

  • Demonstrate excellence, breadth of experience and relevant work history across a range of environments.

  • Good numeracy skills, financially aware and able to work within budget.

  • Good oral and written language skills.

  • Solid understanding of the requirements menu management within different operational and commercial contractual models.
