Live in Travelling Housekeeper, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire 

A long-standing family of Greycoat Lumleys have a remarkable opportunity for a professional Housekeeper to join their fully-staffed formal country residence near to Henley-on-Thames. The household has exceptionally high standards, so it is imperative for the candidate to possess extensive experience, a professional demeanour, attention to detail and a deep passion for their work. Working within the housekeeping team and reporting to the Senior Housekeeper.  Together with the travelling team, the Housekeeper is required to travel to family properties both in the UK and overseas. Travel is not continuous, although part of the role and advance notice will be given. 

 Duties (as an example, but not limited to):

  • Travelling with the Principals

  • All housekeeping duties for household and guest accommodation 

  • All laundry duties including Ironing, hand washing delicate garments and organising items to be sent to the dry cleaners 

  • Cleaning and laying fires

  • Assisting during evening events with service duties when required 

  • Assisting with ladies maid duties when not on duty.

  • Meeting and greeting of guests 

Only experienced candidates will be considered, ideally from a UHNW/formal Household. Please only apply if you have excellent longevity in previous roles. This position is most suited to someone without dependents due to the flexibility and travel required.  Driving is not essential for the role, although it is advantageous so that you do not have to rely on public transport and taxis on your days off. A shared work car is provided for work purposes only.

Hours:  45 hours 07.30 until 12:00 and 13.00 until 16.30 or 09.00 until 12:00 and 13.00 until 18.00

Days: Contracted to 5.5 days per week rostered in advance, which will include weekends when the roster dictates (2 days off per week will be given as often as possible)

Accommodation: One-bedroom flat or two-bedroom property (service allowance paid)

Salary: Competitive salary for the right candidate.  £45,000+ negotiable based on experience
