A client of Greycoat Lumleys is looking for a Captain to join their brand new yacht - an Arcadia - which will be setting sail from Italy in the middle of June. The role is a lovely one, and the client is seeking a calm and flexible Captain, who has previous experience with new builds, and is knowledgeable on both the Mediterranean and Persian Gulf. The right candidate will have the ability to work in the EU and will be available to join this team immediately.
You:
- Must be an experienced Yacht Captain, with at least 5+ years as a Captain.
- Will ideally have 2+ years as a Captain on board an Arcadia (A96 or A85) to be specific. If not, a similar semi-custom steel/aluminum yacht is essential.
- Should have proven itineraries in the Mediterranean and UAE.
- Love being at sea and in these particular locations.
- Have new build or warranty management experience. If you have experience with the Arcadia Shipyard, this is of course preferred.
- Are fluent in English and Italian. French and Arabic would be a plus.
- Possess a technical brain, able to troubleshoot the yacht's monitoring system.
- Have experienced all the extra optional systems that a Yacht can provide such as the water toys, solar panels, waste management etc.
- Hold a Schengen visa.
- Are available to start ASAP.
The role:
- Captain of a 29m motor yacht, which will spend the summer months in the Med, and then will go to Dubai for the winter.
- Taking the family on day cruises around the Med to take in the sites, and also organising some overnights too.
- Setting up fun activities for the family and guests, and planning an itinerary that appeals to all.
- Launching a brand-new yacht and getting it set up in the water.
- Being responsible of the running of the yacht and possessing an in-depth knowledge of this vessel's unique engineereing, layout and performance characteristics.
- Maintaining the vessel's custom finishes to the owners' standards
- Coordination with the shipyard for all warranty, compliance, spare parts and technical support.
- Supervision of the whole crew and ensuring that they maintain luxury finishes throughout the yacht.

Qualifications required:
- MCA Master 200/500GT (or higher)
- STCW
- PDSD
- Arcadia-specific training is preferred OR documented experience with an A96/A85.
