We have been approached by a student, Sally Eales, who is hoping to do a PhD, with the aim of unveiling how domestic service is practiced at the highest level in the UK today and to contrast how and in what ways, if at all, it is distinct from that practiced historically.
The success of the project depends on Sally being able to conduct interviews with current or former private household employees and to record the narratives of their experiences. Any participation would, of course, be completely anonymised and confidential and handled sensitively, and be used purely as part of her research!
