Entertaining guests in 2016? MyChef has recipe for success

If you haven’t already tried Greycoat Lumleys’ personal chef service, MyChef, its increasing popularity suggests 2016 might be the year that you do

MyChef has been inundated with enquiries from a range of clients wanting anything from a Michelin-starred dining experience in the comfort of their home to a family holiday with their own cook. Here, Greycoat Lumleys’ MyChef Consultant, Laura Sandels, tells us more about this unique service and gives us an insight into why it’s been so well-received…

What is MyChef and where did the idea come from?

“MyChef is a service for clients who want their very own chef or cook for special occasions. We are finding more and more that people want to entertain guests at home but don’t want the worry or time-constraints associated with cooking or pre-arranged catering. MyChef enables that to happen. We provide four levels of expertise to meet clients varying tastes, budget or occasion – Michelin/Rosette Chefs, Personal Chefs, Professional Family Cooks or Cookery School Graduates.

What do you think has made MyChef so popular with Greycoat Lumley clients?

“The quality of our candidates really sets us apart. Because Greycoat Lumleys already holds a long history as a specialist in recruitment for private households, we know what to look for. We not only attract chefs and cooks with the highest qualifications and references but we also interview and get to know every candidate so that we can confidently introduce them to our clients.

What sort of service can clients expect from MyChef?

“All our chefs and cooks are experienced, talented and flexible with their cooking styles. They will arrange menus with clients, shop and source ingredients and bring equipment to suit clients’ requirements. It’s so much more personal than traditional catering services which are often limited in terms of menu choices and timings. The only limit to MyChef is our clients’ imaginations.

Finally, what would you say to anyone wanting to become a MyChef chef or cook?

“We are always keen to hear from qualified chefs or cooks. Whether you are a rising star or you already have rosettes, if you are passionate about bringing the professional dining experience into peoples’ homes we would encourage you to get in touch.”
