Part-Time Housekeeper Job – Ascot, Berkshire
This is a fantastic opportunity for a reliable and experienced part-time Housekeeper to work for a friendly family based in Ascot, Berkshire. The family live in a spacious five-bedroom home and are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and organisation.
The household consists of two parents, a seven-year-old child, and a toddler. Both parents are regularly at home. The role is housekeeping-focused. Occasional cooking support and occasional childcare.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, from 2 - 6:30/7pm. The position would suit a proactive, capable and cooperative housekeeper who enjoys working as part of a family household and can manage tasks independently.
You must be a confident driver with your own car, as the property requires driving access and the role includes errands and family shopping.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning and maintaining a five-bedroom house to a high standard
- Daily housekeeping duties, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and general tidying, especially high traffic areas (kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms)
- Cleaning up and resetting the kitchen and living areas after meal times
- Laundry, ironing and household organisation as required
- Family shopping and running local errands (i.e. post office, pharmacy etc)
- Occasional cooking (healthy, family-friendly, Mediterranean-style meals)
- Occasional babysitting for the children
- Liaising with the family to plan tasks and ensure the smooth running of the household
- A helpful attitude, flexible when plans change,and offering support cheerfully.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a Housekeeper in a private household
- High standards of cleaning and attention to detail
- Confident driver with own car (required for access and errands)
- Trustworthy, reliable, and able to work independently
- Comfortable working in a family home with young children
- Cooking skills and childcare experience an advantage but not essential
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Excellent references
Location: Ascot, Berkshire
Hours: Monday to Friday, 2-6:30/7pm
Driving: Required (own car essential)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
