A warm, welcoming private household in Provence is seeking a dynamic, hands-on Domestic Couple to oversee the smooth running of a luxury 10-bedroom villa set in extensive, beautifully landscaped grounds. The principals are in residence 3–6 months each year, and the home serves as a peaceful retreat for family and guests. This role suits a proactive couple with exceptional energy, initiative and a genuine willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities
Property & Grounds
Oversee the daily care and presentation of a luxury 10-bedroom villa (sleeps up to 16)
Willingness to learn gardening techniques
Maintain 8 hectares of grounds: lawns, knot garden, vegetable garden, terraces, and olive groves
Care for outdoor pool area
Enhance the aesthetic of the estate through thoughtful care of grounds, beds, and seasonal displays
Guest Experience & Housekeeping
Provide warm, attentive service for principals and guests
Service of food and drinks
Deliver excellent housekeeping standards, including turn-down service
Prepare confident home-style meals for up to 10 guests when required. Meals can be separated out between the couple
Ensure the property is immaculate, organised, and ready for arrivals
Logistics, Administration & Oversight
Manage household budgets, suppliers, maintenance schedules and insurance/paperwork
Coordinate with local contractors (sufficient French to communicate is required)
Arrange airport runs and other transport
Both candidates must hold valid EU driving licences
Handle issues calmly and proactively—everything from a broken window to a pool refurbishment
Maintain clear communication with the principals’ office and provide regular updates
Work independently for long stretches, taking full responsibility across the estate
Teamwork & Attitude
Operate as a cohesive, self-managing team
Show enthusiasm, initiative, and the ability to “roll up your sleeves” anywhere needed
Bring strong organisational skills and pride in high-quality work
Maintain professionalism, discretion, and a warm, welcoming manner
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a couple who have:
Experience in a private household or similar service-focused environment
Strong work ethic, resilience, and a positive, solution-driven mindset
A genuine willingness to learn new skills (especially in gardening and estate care)
The ability to cook confidently for groups and maintain excellent housekeeping standards
Comfort managing budgets, paperwork, and day-to-day operational needs
The ability to work independently without micro-management
EU passports and valid EU driving licences
French language skills beneficial (or the willingness to build basic working proficiency)
Energy, enthusiasm, adaptability and initiative are essential.
This is a household where staff are treated exceptionally well—expect a supportive, happy working environment with fair but high expectations.
