Couple Job with amazing Central NYC accommodation & Competitive Salary
A new Client of Greycoat Lumleys who has been recommended to us by friends has recently engaged us to find them a capable and experienced Domestic couple for their NY townhouse close to Central Park. The property is on the Upper East side.
The family comprises five people with three children aged 11, 8 and 5. They are well educated and polite and their father enjoys walking them to school most days. The family like to feel at home as a family in their own house. They are moving to the property at the start of the year and hope to employ a Domestic couple who can also cover cooking daily meals for a family of five. One candidate should be a capable Housekeeper to work alongside one other live out Housekeeper. This will include but not be limited to polishing surfaces, vacuuming the house, cleaning floors, washing, and ironing laundry making beds and cleaning bathrooms.
One candidate should be a capable chef/cook. The food to be prepared should be non-fuss homely cooking but confidence in the kitchen is of course very desirable and advantageous to the successful couple. Simple healthy cooking with non-processed fresh produce form one of the couples is integral to this role and the family eat red meat once a week, healthy balanced meals with vegetables white meat and fish during the majority of the week. The family would also like to use local vendors and so one candidate should also be responsible for daily shopping and suppliers, or this can be shared between the couple.
The family will have outside vendors/contractors and maintenance people and the property has a concierge service so being aware of who to call for specific maintenance issues is important to this role. Professionalism and due care for the upkeep of the household and proactive problem solving is required from the successful couple.
The daily duties and tasks sought for this role is as follows:
At least three years working in Private Households (preferably as a Domestic couple)
Daily Housekeeping
Polishing silverware
Cleaning and polishing surfaces
Keeping perfectly clean and organised cupboards
Daily cleaning of bedrooms and bathrooms
Laundry and fine fabric care
Detailed and organised
Cooking daily meals
Serving to table
Maintaining a clean and operational kitchen environment that the family also use
Picking up children from school on occasion
Souricng fresh produce and daily shopping
Ensuring recycling and environmental measures are upkept.
Some Light maintenance
The family employ a nanny and a Housekeeper currently but see the move to the new property as a great opportunity to also employ a domestic couple both as the requirements will increase and as they can provide excellent centrally located accommodation. The family values downtime to be spent amongst each other so its important that candidates remain friendly but not familiar, professional and available & that they respect the Principals privacy and downtime.
Accommodation provided is in the form of a staff apartment, bedroom, living area with a kitchen and bathroom located on the main floor of the house. The staff apartment and the principal’s property share the same entrance.
This role is only open to candidates with the existing right to work in the USA, either in the form of an American Green card or US Passport.

SALARY RANGE: $200,000 – $220,000 Gross per annum combined
ACCOMMODATION: Provided at no additional cost.
