This role suits a proactive couple with exceptional energy, initiative and a genuine willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

Property & Grounds

  • Oversee the daily care and presentation of a luxury 10-bedroom villa (sleeps up to 16)
  • Willingness to learn gardening techniques
  • Maintain 8 hectares of grounds: lawns, knot garden, vegetable garden, terraces, and olive groves
  • Care for outdoor pool area
  • Enhance the aesthetic of the estate through thoughtful care of grounds, beds, and seasonal displays

Guest Experience & Housekeeping

  • Provide warm, attentive service for principals and guests
  • Service of food and drinks
  • Deliver excellent housekeeping standards, including turn-down service
  • Prepare confident home-style meals for up to 10 guests when required. Meals can be separated out between the couple
  • Ensure the property is immaculate, organised, and ready for arrivals

Logistics, Administration & Oversight

  • Manage household budgets, suppliers, maintenance schedules and insurance/paperwork
  • Coordinate with local contractors (sufficient French to communicate is required)
  • Arrange airport runs and other transport
  • Both candidates must hold valid EU driving licences
  • Handle issues calmly and proactively—everything from a broken window to a pool refurbishment
  • Maintain clear communication with the principals’ office and provide regular updates
  • Work independently for long stretches, taking full responsibility across the estate

Teamwork & Attitude

  • Operate as a cohesive, self-managing team
  • Show enthusiasm, initiative, and the ability to “roll up your sleeves” anywhere needed
  • Bring strong organisational skills and pride in high-quality work
  • Maintain professionalism, discretion, and a warm, welcoming manner

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a couple who have:

  • Experience in a private household or similar service-focused environment
  • Strong work ethic, resilience, and a positive, solution-driven mindset
  • A genuine willingness to learn new skills (especially in gardening and estate care)
  • The ability to cook confidently for groups and maintain excellent housekeeping standards
  • Comfort managing budgets, paperwork, and day-to-day operational needs
  • The ability to work independently without micro-management
  • EU passports and valid EU driving licences
  • French language skills beneficial (or the willingness to build basic working proficiency)

Energy, enthusiasm, adaptability and initiative are essential.
This is a household where staff are treated exceptionally well—expect a supportive, happy working environment with fair but high expectations.
