Domestic Couple position – Beautiful Property and excellent package

Greycoat Lumleys is delighted to be assisting a new client in their search for a Domestic couple for a private residence in Saint Gallen.  

Couple requirements:

To be energetic and proactive as well as self-organised and in good health. The client is seeking someone with high levels of hygiene, good manners, able to work in a team with other members of staff, to have previous experience in a similar role and in a similar property for at least 5 years, responsible, trustworthy, hardworking who take pride in their work, with a positive outlook. Good knowledge of modern home appliances and equipment as well as cleaning techniques and products.

Duties will include:

For one half of the couple:

  • Looking after the garden: watering plants, cleaning, irrigation system and fountains

  • Maintenance, lawn mowing

  • Looking after the gates, doors, windows, to keep all in good working condition.

  • Minor repairs where necessary (internal and external)

  • Outdoor furniture care and maintenance

  • Driving: to keep the owner’s cars in good order, to make purchases related to the property, driving the owners when required

  • Other duties when necessary.

  • Maintain stock of all required cleaning material and equipment.

  • Maintain a record of all expenses/purchases with invoices and quotes.

  • Ensure any technical/electrical/mechanical equipment is in working order and is serviced regularly.

For the other half of the couple:

  • Day to day cleaning of the entire property

  • Making beds, changing bedlinen and towels regularly

  • Regular dusting, mopping, hovering of carpets, upholstery, curtains and any other interior items.

  • Window cleaning

  • Laundry – Washing, ironing, steaming of bed linen, towels, table clothes, client’s clothes, etc.

  • Tableware and kitchenware cleaning, storing, maintaining in good condition, setting up tables for meals, serving meals to the table

  • Compliance with storage and inventory rules

  • Good knowledge of how to look after delicate expensive fabrics and materials is necessary

Accommodation: This is a live-out position. An off-site apartment will be secured for the 3 month probationary period if requested, thereafter candidates must rent their own accommodation.

Transport: a car is provided for the villa maintenance and service.

Holidays: A minimum of 20 days per year will be provided during the year with accordance to the family needs (when the family or their guests are not staying at the villa).

Language: Fluent level of English required, German preferred or and advantage.

Salary: On strength of application and competitive
