General Manager Opportunity, Luxury Boutique Estate, Italy
An extraordinary opportunity has arisen for an experienced hospitality General Manager to oversee one of Italy’s most prestigious boutique properties. The property hosts highly discerning travellers from around the world seeking an elevated and bespoke experience in luxuriously appointed suites. Other high-end facilities include a spa, bespoke culinary services, tennis court and swimming pool, nestled in exceptional historical buildings and gardens.
- This is a hands-on, hospitality-driven position overseeing:
- Full operational leadership of the property
- Maintaining a team with a culture of warmth, humility, service excellence, and absolute discretion
- Delivering a fully bespoke guest experience
- Sales and marketing interactions with luxury travel agencies and specialist partners
- Re-energising existing relationships and identifying new high-value markets
- Attending relevant trade shows and representing the property with confidence and poise
- Working closely with the culinary team to tailor menus and guest experiences
- Ensuring the property always operates at the highest possible standards
- This is not a role for someone who wants to sit behind a desk. It requires grace under pressure, natural hospitality, creativity, and the ability to manage a team with maturity and kindness. It is also in a rural setting, with outdoor experiences prevalent, although very easily connected to large city hubs.
To be considered:
- A native Italian speaking candidate with flawless English from a hospitality, palace, or boutique-5* hotel background
- Highly polished, finessed, commercially savvy, comfortable speaking with top global agencies
- Warm, respectful, grounded – able to operate in a small community without arrogance
- Exceptionally strong with VIP guests and UHNW clientele
- Capable of stepping into a fast-paced environment where expectations are extremely high
- Naturally proactive, resourceful, and solutions-driven – “no” is never the first answer
- Strong team leader who can mentor, refine and elevate a mixed-experience workforce
- Experience abroad (e.g., London, Paris or other international hubs) highly beneficial
- Able to balance demanding guest periods with quieter off-season responsibilities, primarily sales and marketing
Package:
- €100,000 gross per annum, negotiable for the right candidate
- A recently refurbished and beautifully designed home where pets are welcome
- Partner welcome - the property is well suited for a partner who may work seasonally (e.g., culinary or spa support)
