House Manager / Personal Assistant (Hybrid Role) South West London
Overview
The House Manager / Personal Assistant will act as the principal’s trusted aide, ensuring the smooth running of the household, coordinating personal and administrative matters, and anticipating needs before they arise. This is a hands-on and highly varied role requiring emotional intelligence, discretion, organization, and an eye for detail. The ideal candidate is service-minded, polished, and capable of switching seamlessly between managing a home, handling logistics, and supporting the principal in both personal and professional contexts.
Key Responsibilities
Household & Property Oversight
• Ensure the residence is maintained to the highest standard — clean, organized, and guest-ready at all times.
• Liaise with cleaners, contractors, suppliers, and tradespeople; supervise ongoing maintenance or renovation work.
• Oversee household purchases, deliveries, and inventory (furniture, art, linen, supplies, etc.).
• Manage household budgets and payments; maintain expense records and reconcile accounts.
• Maintain relationships with service providers (security, car maintenance, tech support, etc.).
• Coordinate seasonal preparations (guest rooms, events, travel packing, etc.).
Personal Assistance
• Act as first point of contact and gatekeeper for the principal’s personal matters.
• Manage diary and appointments; coordinate meetings, dinners, and social engagements.
• Arrange travel: flights, transfers, itineraries, visas, accommodation, and restaurant bookings.
• Handle personal correspondence, emails, calls, and document organization.
• Assist with family logistics, school communication, and travel where needed.
• Conduct online research, comparisons, and project coordination (e.g., art, furnishings, events).
• Run errands, shopping, gift sourcing, wardrobe and packing support.
Project & Event Coordination
• Support ongoing projects such as interior design, art acquisitions, or property improvements.
• Coordinate with designers, galleries, architects, and suppliers to ensure deadlines and standards are met.
• Organize private events, dinners, and gatherings — liaising with caterers, florists, and staff.
• Ensure guests are welcomed and cared for to a high standard.
Qualifications & Skills
• 5+ years’ experience as a Private PA, House Manager, or Lifestyle Manager for a private household or UHNW individual.
• Highly organized with a “nothing-is-too-small” attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; polished, discreet, and trustworthy.
• Proactive problem solver who can anticipate needs.
• Comfortable with both office and household tasks — from scheduling meetings to managing builders.
• Tech-savvy (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, WhatsApp, travel apps).
• Flexible schedule and willingness to assist outside standard hours when required.
• Fluency in English; additional languages an advantage (French or Turkish appreciated).
• Driving license preferred.
Salary - £90K plus depending on experience
Based between the home in Belgravia and the office in Mayfair
Monday - Friday with flexibility to work weekends for events and be on call out of hours if needed.
