Live in Couple Job in Oxfordshire
We have a fantastic opportunity for a pro-active and energetic couple to take care of a beautiful large estate in Oxfordshire. This is the main residence for a busy family, with 4 children between the ages of 18-12 years old (they attend boarding school). Completing the family are 3 dogs. The elderly father-in-law lives on another cottage on the estate. The property is a stunning old rectory with 7 bedrooms.
The estate is used to host Shoot Lunches during the shoot season.
Other staff are employed on the estate, include a cleaner (twice a week), a Head Gardener, maintenance person, a Cook for the shoots and a driver.
This a great role for a couple who would like to work in an informal home, you will be hands on, proactive, able to take initiative and be team players. This is a long-term position so longevity is important.
Duties to include but not limited:
Housekeeping
Laundry, ironing and fabric care
Care of antiques and fine furnishings
Helping look after the children when required
Occasional cooking for the father in law
Helping serve at shoot lunches
Provisioning for the household
Interior and exterior maintenance
Handyman responsibilities (basic repairs and DIY)
Garden maintenance (lawn mowing, strimming, trimming etc)
Occasional driving duties
Vehicle maintenance (car washing and filling up with petrol etc)
Pet care
Liaise with contractors
Security of the property
Start date: Flexible for the right Couple
Working week: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work
Hours: 8am – 5pm with a break
Driving: at least one must be a confident driver
Accommodation: A separate 2 bedroom cottage with a small garden area - a well behaved pet is welcome
Salary: £70,000 gross per annum, negotiable for the right couple
