Live in Couple Job in Gloucestershire

A weekend residence for a busy family is looking for an experienced Couple to manage their home in Gloucestershire and ensure it is ready for the family’s arrival at the weekends. The couple have three children aged 14, 18 and 22 years old with only the 14 year old living at home, the older two are at university. The family have a friendly dog who comes with them on weekends so you should be dog lovers and care for him as your own when they travel. 

If the family are not in residence in the countryside at a weekend, you may be asked to work in the London house on very rare occasions – where you will be provided with a staff flat.

The family don't use the property much during the summer holidays as they travel abroad, so there is downtime when they are away. You will need to be more flexible with days and hours during half term holidays as they will be in residence more (time off will be given in lieu).

Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Cleaning to a high standard (the London Housekeeper comes to help out at the country residence on weekends when the family are in residence)
  • Washing and ironing
  • Packing and unpacking
  • Running errands and Shopping
  • Cooking for family and guests - happy to cater for up to 15 people to an informal dinner party standard (The family like healthy, freshly made meals, such as Ottolenghi etc)
  • Manage and liaise with contractors
  • Garden maintenance - mowing lawns, cutting hedges (there is a gardener 3 days a week)
  • Swimming Pool and tennis court maintenance
  • Handyman duties - maintaining household systems and outdoor swimming pool
  • Driving duties and vehicle maintenance 
  • Dog care when the family are away over the summer (approx. 6 weeks)
  • House and dog sitting when the family travel

The ideal couple for this role will be warm, friendly, proactive and dynamic. 

House: newly renovated 6-bedroom house

Drivers: Ideally both to drive – essential that one drives. A car is provided for work purposes.

Accommodation: 2-bedroom furnished cottage on the estate with utility bills included. Pets will be considered for the right couple.

Start Date: Flexible

Working days and hours: Wednesday – Sunday (days off Monday & Tuesday). Hours will need to be flexible with days when family are in residence. When the family are away, you can take weekends off

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 GPA combined
